Weekly Tip #7- Having A Great Deal of Integrity

At 5 North Inc., we take pride in the great deal of integrity each team member holds. We believe in order to yield the best results, we need to do what it is right for ourselves and the company. We know this doesn’t come easy, as taking short-cuts will only hurt us in the long run. We believe it is vital to possess the quality of not only being honest, but having strong moral principles as well. We ensure that our words always match our actions. Our weekly tip this week is how to have a great deal of integrity.

Think about what is best long-term. Figure out your future goals and how you are going to achieve them. Use the present as a time to make sacrifices, not as a time to sit back and relax. Of course you should always live in the present and make the best of it, but don’t be too caught up in it without regard to the future. This will lead you to a future that is lacking in the success you want.

Don’t take the easy way out. Nothing worth having or keeping comes easily. If you don’t do anything now, nothing is going to happen for you in the future. In order to make a change, you must be the change.

Always do what you say you are going to do. Stop making excuses for the things you did wrong or the things you haven’t done yet. It’s time to get up to turn things around for yourself. Be reliable, not only for the people around you, but for yourself. Trust yourself and know that you are going to do whatever it takes to get you to where you said you would be.

Whatever you do, do it well. Don’t just put the minimal amount of effort in required to get something done. You don’t want to be mediocre, you want to be excellent! Take pride in your hard work and accomplishments.

At 5 North Inc., integrity is a major behavior we value. In everything we train for, whether it is an entry-level position or a management position, we emphasize the importance of having a great deal of integrity and what it takes to have it. Every Thursday morning, we have pre-management meetings where we are presented an overview of our opportunities and what we are working toward. It shows us our long-term goal and helps us visualize how we are going to use the present to get there. So remember…

  1. Think long-term
  2. Don’t do what’s easy
  3. Keep your word
  4. Give it your all
